Get Involved: District Community Relations
In addition to facilitating community involvement within the school system and for the district's major events, the department also provides coordination and/or planning for the school system's participation in community state or national events.
The department also facilitates relationships between the community and education through:
- A review of incoming requests via the Superintendent's Screening Committee.
- Maintaining relationships with businesses, government and non-profit organizations by assisting with local community projects.
- Facilitating the district's involvement with parent organizations.
- Developing district-wide partnership programs that support the district's over all strategic goals.
- Coordinating the school district’s employee recognition programs.
More detailed information about all of these programs is available on this web site.

Broward County Public Schools offers area businesses recognition opportunities for their help in underwriting District employee recognition events and community involvement programs, sports schedules and student publications.
Broward County’s Teacher of the Year Recognition Program was the first event program that received community support. Today all of the school board’s employee and community involvement programs are successful because of sponsorship support. Proceeds from each program are used to secure student or classroom resources.
So whether you want to help support an employee recognition program, a student based reading program, parent/volunteer training or you just want to promote your product or business to area residents, we have the sponsorship opportunity for you.
