New Family Assistance Center for Those Impacted by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Tragedy Will Open Saturday, February 17, 2018
 
UPDATE – Regarding Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School February 15, 2018, 10 a.m. Our hearts are heavy as we deal with the horrific Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy that is impacting our community. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High remains closed for the rest of the week and all of the school’s activities are cancelled.

Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is proud to announce Andrew Kennedy, a senior at Cypress Bay High School, is recognized as “Top in the World” for his exceptional achievement in Cambridge International Examinations.
 
On Monday, February 12, 2018, approximately 1,200 students will gather at the BB&T Center in Sunrise from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. for the second annual industry-focused student career fair.
 
Northeast High School is one of only 15 high schools across the nation selected to receive a Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam $10,000 grant to create a mosquito breeding disruptor – a device to deter mosquitoes from laying eggs in standing water.
 
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) announced its top teacher, principal, assistant principal and school-related/District employee during the 2018 Caliber Awards Ceremony at the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, February 1, 2018. The annual ceremony recognizes and honors the dedication and hard work of the District’s outstanding educators, leaders and staff.
 
Students from Liberty Elementary School are participating in the Hockey Scholar program hosted by the Florida Panthers, National Hockey League Players’ Association and National Hockey League. Hockey Scholar is an online hockey program that teaches students STEM concepts through the game of hockey. Professional hockey players will visit Liberty Elementary and personally give students insight into the game of hockey.
 
BCPS showcases outstanding student talent at the annual Superintendent’s Advanced Placement Studio Art Exhibition Reception, Advanced Placement Studio Art Awards Ceremony, All State Music Awards Ceremony and All County Middle and High School Honor Bands Concert. Additional performances take place in February and March.
